The Story Of North Mountain Lookout

The North Mountain Fire Lookout has a panoramic view of the North Cascade Mountains and surrounding foothills.  In March 2013 a group of chronic, local volunteers came together to discuss the future of the lookout and begin to create a vision.  They saw the lookout as an iconic symbol of local history and culture, as well as an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come into contact with the beauty of nature.

The restoration of the lookout has been a gift to the local community and to the wider area.  It is for all those that want to create memories and meaning in the presence of nature.  It is a gift from the local volunteers that work, daily, to build a better future for all of us.
