Discover miles and miles of hiking trails

Challenge your skills or take time to relax! Explore hiking trails into the remote backcountry, or just a day out.  Maybe just pack a picnic lunch and drive scenic forest roads to a beautiful destination.  Feel the thrill of rafting through whitewater, or just a relaxing paddle adventure.  Traverse a mountain or challenge yourself on one of the areas famous climbing routes.  Have a quiet day birding, enjoying photography or hunting for mushrooms!

Festivals And Fun

Darrington has music festivals, rodeo, archery competitions and so much more!

Because of our unique setting and diverse infrastructure more and more event venues are calling Darrington their home!  We are home to two annual large music festivals, the Darrington Bluegrass Festival (July) & Summer Meltdown Festival (August).  We also have our annual Timberbowl Rodeo, archery competition, a new mountain bike trail system and a summer street fair.  Darrington, think of it as the little town with a lot going on!

In Darrington there is a sense of place, purpose and the desire for fellowship. In these remote surroundings we feel the brunt of winter and as the seasons change we want to encourage the visitor to spend the best of summer with us. Old fashion fun is alive and well here, with the Annual Back to School BBQ,  Darrington Talent Show, Sauk-Suiattle PowWow and Grand ol’ 4th of July Parade & Fireworks.

Discover Darrington’s destination lodging makes your over night stay part of the experience!  There are several AirBnBs, Tiny Houses, retreats, cabins and Bed & Breakfasts to choose from.  Darrington also boasts several campgrounds, many situated amidst gigantic evergreens.  Whether you choose to be pampered at a Bed & Breakfast, spend the night at a working sheep ranch, or cook a lumberjack breakfast over a campfire, Darrington has it all!

The first people to settle in the local valleys were the Sah-ku-mehu, the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe.  For generations these skilled canoe people lived as gatherers, hunters and fishermen.

In the late 1800s gold was discovered and prospectors flooded to the area.  Several settlements sprang up along the N.F. Stillaguamish Valley, one will later be called the town of Darrington.

Darrington has something for every appetite!  Enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine, home style cooking, pizza, burgers, old fashion milkshakes.  You will also find vegetarian and gluten free choices.

Enjoy locally crafted beer at our very own brewery or linger awhile over an espresso or herbal tea in downtown Old Town.
