Downey Creek; Dispersed Campsites


Looking at a campsite near Downey Creek

There are two dispersed campsites near Downey off of the Suiattle River Road, Forest Road #26.  These campsites are located 19.7 miles down the road just before crossing the Downey Creek Bridge on the left, (north).

Downey Creek can be heard from the campsites and just a short distance away.  Several nice day hikes such as Sulfur Creek and Downey Creek are near by.

Dispersed campsites are not campground and do not have:
  • A camp host
  • Garbage receptacle
  • Potable water
  • No reservations & is first come first served

They do have:

  • Vehicle pull ins
  • Vault toilet

Being able to camp at dispersed campsites is a wonderful recreation to have available.  Please keep our backcountry clean and do not blaze new roads by driving where roads are closed or nonexistent.
