Lightning & Loneliness

Please Join the Darrington Historical Society for our long awaited second presentation of "Lightning & Loneliness" a history of local fire lookouts, the buildings and the people who staffed them.

Where was the first lookout on the Darrington Ranger District? When was the Mt Pugh Lookout struck by lightning? Who convinced his bride to spend her honeymoon at Three Fingers lookout? Learn the answers, see the slideshow of historical and modern photos, enjoy good company, and share stories of these emblems of our local history.

The presentation will take place at the Mansford Grange in Darrington (about 3 blocks behind the Darrington IGA on Railroad Ave) at 1:00 & 4:00 on Saturday, October 1st.

Doors open at 12:00 for coffee and sharing, presentation beginning at 1:00, with another showing time to follow at 4:00.

Please bring your photos, memorabilia and stories to share.

And please share this invitation with anyone who may be interested.
